    Research Interest:
    - Participatory budgeting and deliberative dialog in public policymaking in Chicago and neighborhoods
    - Urban governance- racial equity analysis as a governance and policy-making framework
    - Legislative reform, procedure
    - Policy campaigns related to voting rights, immigrant rights, education reform, tax and fiscal policy

    Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 10-15

    Qualifications of a Student:
    - Preferred major/minor in Public Policy
    - 3rd and 4th years would benefit most from my experience and networks, but I'm open to advanced 2nd years
    - PPOL 210 and 211 strongly preferred
    - Demonstrated commitment to social justice, racial equity and civic engagement through extracurricular activities such as membership in the Roosevelt Institute@UIC and/or the Model Illinois Government @UIC, volunteer experience at community-based organizations, or internships.

    Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
    A strong commitment to:
    - learning the nuts and bolts of policy advocacy
    - community organizing and engagement
    - working in a team environment where differences in privilege and capacity require the student develop a deeper understanding of their own privilege and power
    - showing up, being present and working for impact

    Specific projects will determine a more specialized workplan and outcomes for that student.
